Our 1997 Formula 1 car [Chassis SF1-4], which is currently based at Moog Industrial Group in Tewkesbury, was driven by Rubens Barrichello.
The Stewart SF1-4 used Moog E050 series servo valves for the automated hydraulic control of:
Clutch
Gearshift
Differential
Throttle
Power assisted brakes
SF1-4 has been owned by Moog since 2007.
Our dedicated engineers have developed a range of systems and products for actuation in many types of motorsport including Formula 1, World Rally Championship (WRC), Moto GP, Touring Cars, and Le Mans prototypes.
Today’s Formula 1 cars use up to 11 of newer and more compact E024 Series valve, as well as highly responsive miniature actuators, pressure valves and power assisted steering valves, to control functions such as the inlet trumpet, rear wing, gearbox, turbocharger, throttle, clutch, differential, rear brake pressure limiting and steering.

The Stewart Grand Prix team was formed in 1996 by three times Formula 1 champion Sir Jackie Stewart and his son, Paul Stewart. It was set up as a Ford Works supported team but competed in Formula 1 for only three seasons, during which time the team achieved one win and one pole position.
At the end of 1999 Ford bought the team outright and it was renamed Jaguar Racing. In 2004, Jaguar Racing was sold to energy drinks company Red Bull and now competes as Red Bull Racing.
